Carrie Ann is a passionate sustainability and circular economy practitioner. For nearly two decades, Carrie Ann has pushed sustainability in Ireland, gaining recognition for her industry perspective and her pragmatic approach to embedding sustainability and circularity themes into the mainstream. She specialises in aiding SMEs and start-ups to break down barriers and embed realistic and attainable sustainability and circular economy practices across their value chain.
Over 13 years, Carrie Ann held positions such as Head of Sustainability and Sustainability Manager in the private sector. In 2020, she founded Circular Fashion Ireland. Circular Fashion Ireland is the first consultancy in Ireland to advise and educate companies & individuals working across/in the fashion & textile sector. In addition to this, Carrie Ann consults across many other sectors including technology, hospitality, food services, retail, charity retail and e-commerce.
Carrie Ann joined The Entrepreneurs Academy in 2024, and brings her expertise in sustainability to our participants, as well as training in business planning, customer service, strategy, and leadership. Participants appreciate her helpful and supportive style while sharing her knowledge.
Carrie Ann is a published researcher and academic; her research has seen her appointed to the National Advisory Committee of the Irish Government for the implementation of the Waste Action Plan for a Circular Economy. In 2020 Carrie was appointed by the European Commission as a judge on the European Social Innovation Competition.
Carrie Ann holds a B. A. in Law, Dip in Fashion, Post Grad in Environmental Management and an M.Sc. in Environmental Sustainability. She has also trained in numerous short courses, to include Sustainable Business Development and Climate Mitigation for Business, and most recently, she commenced a course in Universal Design Learning (UDL), ensuring all her content and delivery is inclusive for all.
Carrie Ann has designed and implemented educational programmes across public bodies, local government agencies, corporate, and primary, secondary and third-level institutions. Further to this and spanning her career, she has lectured across many institutes such as TU Dublin, DCU, UCD, NCAD, and Griffith College.
