Lorraine founded and managed a textile design and manufacturing company for 10+ years supplying designer hand crafted fashion accessories to the fashion and corporate gift markets in Ireland and for export markets. Lorraine collaborated extensively for many years with leading Irish fashion and interior designers on accessories for their ranges and was stocked in leading retailers in Ireland and internationally.
Lorraine, while under design licence agreement with Arnotts Dept Store, developed an extensive commercially successfull business. Lorraine Bowen Arnotts brand of Interior products retailing across five of the stores departments over a period of three years.
Lorraine has 20 years-experience working in the creative industry which equips her with great insight into the issues business owners are facing within the creative sector. She specializes in designing and developing training and mentoring supports for microenterprises and SMEs. Lorraine has worked with businesses in every sector but has specific expertise and interest in creative industry start-ups and established SMEs.
Her key role is to lead the team to deliver on the strategic objectives. As well, Lorraine oversees the business partnerships with government agencies and corporate clients. Her passion is to design Entrepreneur Development programmes to ensure Irish SMEs start strong and achieve their business ambitions.
She is a connector, fuelled by her passion to help Irish small businesses to thrive by developing their skills, their confidence, their thinking and their network.
Lorraine was a very active member of the DCCOI mentoring and training panel for over 15 years, providing advice and training to creative businesses nationwide. In 2010 she was appointed by the European Commission as a Mentor and member of the European Network of Mentors for Women Entrepreneurs.
